Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles (Los Angeles, USA) – expositions, opening hours, address, phone numbers, official website.
The Museum of Modern Art in Los Angeles (MOCA) is considered one of the best art collections in the United States. The museum is entirely dedicated to contemporary art – there is both a permanent exhibition of painting, sculpture, graphics and applied art, as well as temporary exhibitions, many of which become a high-profile event in the cultural life of the country.
A bit of history
The museum was founded in 1979 and collects and displays works by contemporary artists completed after 1940. MOCA’s collections have more than 5,000 exhibits, and this number is constantly growing – so, today the museum occupies three separate buildings – the MOCA Grand Avenue itself, Geffen Contemporary and the Pacific Design Center. The style of the works presented is everything that falls under the definition of “contemporary art” – pop art, expressive abstractionism, visual art, photography.

In addition to regular exhibitions, MOCA hosts art lectures, educational programs; you can also book a guided tour of the museum’s halls, or learn more about the history of contemporary art in the extensive library of over 20,000 volumes.
